The $300 Blanket

After many requests to blog about The $300 blanket here it is.
Two weeks ago my mother-in-law being the sweetheart that she is gave Ben and I a Hudson Bay blanket from England. It's made of 100% wool. This is a blanket that can be used as a family heirloom. The company who makes these blankets has been around for hundreds of years and goes back to the fur trade when hunters would trade these blankets with the Indians for beaver pelts. It was prized for keeping people warm. Our blanket is worth 6 beaver pelts and is marked with 6 stripes to show its worth. It will never go down in value.
This blanket has many qualities. Did you know this blanket is mite resistant because of the natural oils in it? It won't fray if you cut it and you can make clothes from it. This blanket can keep you warm even if you or the blanket is wet, with that being said it is also fire resistant and can be wrapped around yourself in case of a fire. Other things you should know is you can't wash this blanket and must use a special brush to remove any dirt or other particles.
This blanket will also last for generations. One time a family found one that had been in a frozen lake for decades and then they used it for 50 years. It's worth 6 beaver pelts and can keep you warm even if wet. It is also mite resistant because of its natural oils and can be used to wrap around yourself in case of a fire and you won't burn. Also, you can't wash it and will never go down in value. It could be used to make clothes........Oh almost forgot and it will last for generations:)
Thank you, Linda for the blanket. We love it. It really does keep you warm.
